TRE® (Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises) is a simple yet powerful somatic practice that helps the body release deep muscular patterns of stress, tension, and trauma.
Developed by Dr. David Berceli, TRE® uses a series of gentle movements to activate the body’s natural shaking or tremoring response—a built-in mechanism that helps us discharge built-up stress and restore a sense of balance in the nervous system.
These tremors are completely natural and often feel relieving, calming, and grounding. When practiced in a safe, supported environment, TRE® can help us return to a greater sense of ease, regulation, and connection with ourselves.
Whether you're holding tension from everyday stress or carrying deeper layers of unresolved trauma, TRE® offers a body-led way to soften, release, and reconnect.
TRE® supports the body in doing what it already knows how to do—release, regulate, and restore. By tapping into this natural process, many people experience:
Because TRE® works directly with the nervous system, the benefits often unfold gently over time. With regular practice, many people find themselves responding to life with more ease, capacity, and connection.
There are a few ways to begin or deepen your TRE® practice. It's important to choose the format that feels most supportive for where you are right now.
Group Classes
Practicing in a small group setting offers the opportunity to be gently guided through TRE® while being held in a supportive, non-judgemental space. Sharing is always optional, and you’re welcome to simply show up, move at your own pace, and take what you need from the experience. Many people find that practicing alongside others helps them feel grounded and less alone in their process.
1:1 Sessions
If you’re new to somatic work, navigating trauma, or prefer a more personalised approach, individual sessions can provide a safer and more tailored space. We can move slowly, explore together, and support your nervous system in a way that’s paced and attuned to you.
Ongoing Practice
Once you’ve learned the foundations, TRE® can become a self-led practice that you return to as needed. Over time, many people begin to notice more ease in their body, a greater capacity to manage stress, and subtle shifts in how they respond to life.

Not at all. Sharing is always optional. You're welcome to simply show up, practice, and leave quietly—or stay and share if that feels supportive.
Wear something comfy that allows for gentle movement (like yoga clothes). Bring a yoga mat, a blanket, and a water bottle if you can. Some mats and props will be available to borrow if needed. F all information will be provided on booking.
Not at all. TRE® is designed to be accessible for all bodies and experiences. You’ll be guided through everything step-by-step in a supportive, paced way.
TRE® is generally a safe and natural practice, but it’s not suitable for everyone in all situations. Certain medical or mental health conditions—such as epilepsy, severe psychiatric diagnoses, or recent surgeries—may require extra care or may mean TRE® isn't recommended at this time. Everyone attending a session is asked to fill in a short medical intake form beforehand. If you’re unsure whether TRE® is appropriate for you, please don’t hesitate to get in touch for a chat. We can talk it through together and make sure it feels like the right fit for your system.
